The GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ starts with bad news...
And the bad news is that we are not perfect, in fact, we are all sinners-and we must see this about ourselves!!
Everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We will all face God and give an account for our lives and how we lived, but if we compare ourselves with other people, we will always think we are good.
But God doesn't compare us with others, He compares the way we live with His standard which is perfection. We can quickly see that we are far from perfect. God says even when we break one of His laws, then we are guilty of breaking ALL of His laws-this is very serious!
God is very clear that all sinners will have their part in the lake of fire! Hell is eternal. There is no escape. It is literally being tortured forever with no hope and no way out!!

This is serious! And I pray that this puts the fear of the Lord in you! We need to have the fear of the Lord in us to find real LIFE!
We need to understand how serious sin is!
And we also need to understand that we cannot save ourselves. We cannot just try harder to be good, because we are guilty of sin. And no good judge would let us go free if we were guilty of crime even if we asked forgiveness, even if we said we were really sorry, and even if we said we've done good things too!
Being guilty, means we are guilty-period. And the judge must pay us of what we are due for our crime!

God is a Holy and perfect judge, and to be a good judge He must pay guilty sinners of what they are due, which is hell.
But God had a solution to this dilemma!!
He sent His Son 2000 years ago- who was fully man and fully God, and God Himself entered into His own creation and lived with us as one of us, but without any sin!!

And then He was killed-He needed to die so that He could take all of our sin and all of our punishment that we deserved onto His own body!
Since the payment for sin is death-it requires blood as payment!
But since Jesus had lived a perfect sinless life, He didn't stay dead!! And 3 days later something amazing happened!

And this is the best news ever-because that means He defeated death!
Many people are afraid of death, but if we put our trust in Jesus' payment for our sin, God's word says that we will actually inherit eternal life! That means we don't have to fear death. We can know for certain that He has promised us we will be in heaven with Him forever the way that it was supposed to be!
And not only that but when we put our complete trust in Him and give Him our lives we actually become a brand new creation! We are given a brand new heart and a brand new life-a life that God designed us to live!

Don't trust in yourself to save you! Put your trust in Jesus - wont you give Him your life today and ask Him to change you and give you a brand new life and eternal life and wash away all of your sins!
Here is a prayer to God that you can pray right now....
God, I realize that I have sinned before you.
But I believe that you died for my sins. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
Today, I am choosing to turn away from all of my sinful ways, and to put all of my trust in you Jesus!
Today, please be my Lord and my savior!
